When I get sad, I stop being sad

and be awesome instead

worth a quick update

i haven’t written one in awhile but i read this blog and had to requote this:

To trip over old jokes and misunderstandings. To catch our runaway tongues and tempers and gift them into the hands of the person who was gifted to us.

He lets me warm my ice cold feet between his legs and the covers at night.

He has never run through an airport for me.

This is love with the lights on and eyes wide open. This is the brave love, the scared love, the sacred boring, the holy ordinary over sinks of dirty dishes and that one cupboard in the kitchen with the broken hinge.

The xx - Last Christmas (Live on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge)

The xx are one of the last band’s I would expect to release a Christmas song, but there is always something of a quiet longing in their music which seems appropriate for the holiday. “Last Christmas” is a cover of the 1984 WHAM! song of the same name, though it sounds like it could have been a bonus track on either of their albums. They did the cover for BBC1′s Live Lounge.

You can’t find intimacy—you can’t find home—when you’re always hiding behind masks. Intimacy requires a certain level of vulnerability. It requires a certain level of you exposing your fragmented, contradictory self to someone else. You running the risk of having your core self rejected and hurt and misunderstood.
